Smudging is a traditional ceremonial practice in many Indigenous cultures, including the Anishinaabe people. It involves the burning of sacred plants, such as White Sage, Sweetgrass,Tobacco, and Cedar, to create a purification smoke. The smoke is believed to have cleansing and protective properties, driving out negative energies, bad spirits, and unwanted influences.
In Anishinaabe culture, smudging is an integral part of spiritual practices, ceremonies, and daily life.
