Aaniin Boozhoo Gakina Awiya!
My name is Paula Tobey, and I am the owner and sole creative force behind The Wild Native Collection™. My Anishinaabe name is Ondaassiway Miigwan Niimikaan (Coming from a Certain Place, the Feather that Danced). I am a proud member of Beausoleil First Nation and belong to the Thunderbird Clan.
The Wild Native Collection is where my passion for nature, creativity, traditional knowledge, and cultural heritage come together as one expression of art and intentional living.
I am a mother of four and a Chartered Herbalist, dedicated to lifelong learning and the respectful study of plant medicine, natural wellness, and land-based knowledge. My work is guided by a deep appreciation for the teachings found in nature and the connections that exist between people, plants, and community.
As a painter, I capture the vibrant beauty and rugged spirit of the natural world. As a herbalist, I create self-care offerings rooted in intention, care, and connection to the land. Through wire-wrapped jewelry, leatherwork, ribbons, and curated natural goods, each piece is thoughtfully handcrafted to reflect the beauty of nature and the teachings it offers.
I am also on a personal journey of learning Anishinaabemowin as a way of honouring my ancestors and strengthening my connection to language and culture. I invite you to walk alongside me in this space of creativity, learning, cultural revitalization, and natural living.
Thank you for being here and for supporting this work.
G'Chi Miigwech for being part of The Wild Native Collection™.
