Gwekwaadziwin - Honesty

Gwekwaadziwin, the Anishinaabe teaching of Honesty, encourages us to live authentically and with integrity.

The raven, often regarded as a messenger and teacher, flies across a vibrant sky filled with movement and life. The flowing ribbons represent the ever-changing currents of thought, memory, and spirit. Beneath them, the forest remains rooted, reminding us that honesty requires a strong foundation.

The standing dead trees acknowledge that life includes hardship and change, yet the living forest continues to grow around them. Truth embraces both joy and sorrow rather than hiding either.

The rising sun symbolizes renewal, offering us another opportunity each day to live honestly with ourselves, our families, our communities, and Creation.
